2 NEW music production courses for adults at Colston Hall

We’re pleased to announce that our Producer Uncovered series has been so popular that we’re expanding them to include a brand new beginners course Ableton Live, starting at the beginning of June, and an advanced course ‘From Concept to Dubplate’ a week long intensive course which takes place in August.

Ableton Live is a revolutionary approach to music creation and performance, allowing ideas to be combined, edited and arranged on the fly.  Ableton bridges the gap between studio and performance, offering the tools of traditional production software with a stable, intuitive interface that encourages experimentation and live use.  This 6 week course starting 4th June 2014 takes place in Colston Hall’s state of the art education spaces, every Wednesday evening and is suitable for beginners or those already experienced with other music production packages.  The cost of the course is £120.

Producer Uncovered Advanced – From Concept to Dubplate is a week long intensive summer school for musicians who already have a sound understanding of Logic.  Participants will need to bring their own track to develop a remix, be mixed and mastered and then have the option to cut a dubplate.  The cost of this course is £180 plus £30 to get the dubplate produced.

All of these courses are led by Wedge a leading producer, DJ and label owner.  As a producer, Wedge is highly respected and best known for making left of centre, glitchy, dark and atmospheric dubstep featuring on both BBC-Radio 1 and 1Xtra.  More recently he has been working under the name “Bleecker” alongside fellow producer “Lrusse” to create a different take on dance music, with influences from house, techno and 80’s sci-fi movies. Their debut release ‘Peier Field’ on Audio Culture and their track on the recent Moda Black Vol 2 compilation (alongside such big-hitters as Eats Everything and Maxxi Soundsystem) have won them fans as diverse as Matt Tolfrey, Midland, Will Saul and Appleblim – who promptly signed them up on his renowned Applepips label.
