Photos: Discovery Day October 2019
On Sat 12 Oct we threw open our doors to the public for our second Discovery Day, this time with a focus on sustainability and how a music venue can minimise its impact on the earth. Our Foyer was packed with visitors, who explored themes surrounding sustainability as well as our Transformation project, through arts and crafts, interactive storytelling, Taiko drumming, eco-bricking and hands-on activities.
During the afternoon, the Foyer turned to a panel discussion which, following Bristol Music Trust’s recently announced ambition of carbon neutrality by 2030, delved into what it takes for an organisation to make it happen. Hosted by Harriet Robinson, the panel consisted of Rob Scully from Hope Solutions, Will Hunter, Creative Producer from We The Curious, Rosa Corbishley, Development Director at Bristol Music Trust and Luke Mulder, Senior Environmental Manager from Willmott Dixon.
In the evening, live music curated by Dr Edson Burton and artspace lifespace took over the Foyer to close the day.
Take a look at some of our highlights from the day, thank you to everyone that came and took part in the fun!
