Allison Russell’s stark, vulnerable songwriting holds a cathartic essence.
Known as a pivotal member of Birds of Chicago and Our Native Daughters, earlier this year Russell released her debut solo work.
A deeply personal collection of songs, “Outside Child is the confession of a woman who’s faced hellish experiences and emerged with uncommon grace” (NPR).
Yet in spite of the heavy trauma that Russell processes through the record there’s a sense of resolution and peace at the core, conveyed by her dulcet, velveteen vocals and radiant instrumental accompaniment.
This event has been cancelled due to the ongoing impact of the coronavirus outbreak.
All ticket holders are being contacted and refunds will be issued from the point of purchase.
