In partnership with Bristol Legacy Foundation, we are honoured to be exhibiting one of the 103 thought-provoking globe sculptures from The World Reimagined project outside of our Trenchard Street entrance.
Originally launched in 2022, through the work of incredible artists, the project aims to explore the history, legacy and future of the Transatlantic Trade in Enslaved Africans, as well as how we can all make racial justice a reality.
The globe on display at Bristol Beacon was created by Bristol-based tattoo artist, illustrator and painter 3Dom and was created in response to the theme ‘Reimagine the Future’ – which gives us free rein to imagine the society we can create when we have a full understanding of our shared history; the place the UK can hold in the world when it acknowledges its past; and who we can be as people and a country when we give full dignity to all.
3Dom’s globe is one of four on display throughout the city, transforming Bristol’s streets with a free art trail of globes, with the other globes located at Bristol Cathedral, St Stephen’s Church and St Mary Redcliff.

About the artist
3Dom
(Mike22inks)

“The idea of my globe is to highlight the scars that have been left from the transatlantic slave routes. It is impossible to truly fathom the scale and pain that was undertaken, and the lives this has impacted throughout the African diaspora since then.”
3Dom, 2022
3Dom (aka Mike22inks) is one of Bristol’s new generation of street artists, who regularly paints amazing pieces in a liberal city that has a history of supporting artists. 3Dom is an appropriate name – He regularly combines disparate images in the same characters, ranging from lemons to weight’s bars, treehouses and cages. 3Dom’s vivid imagination, combined with his sense of humour, makes each one of his characters original, unmistakable and a pleasure to find on the street.
