Bristol Beacon is a music charity, renowned venue and award-winning music education hub.
With a city-wide programme of live music, creative learning opportunities and community engagement, we’re here to help make space for music every day, with everyone. With you!
A place of welcome, warmth and light, we extend an open invitation to the city for everyone to come and share in the joy of live music and celebrate this in everything we do.
Welcome.
Our purpose is to share the unity and joy of live music. We do this through an artistic programme of music performance which includes over 800 gigs and festivals per year including 60 free performances and six major festivals to an audience of over 300,000.
As the city’s music hub, we run a programme of creative learning reaching over 30,000 young people every year from Beacon Music Centre in Southmead and across 92% of Bristol’s schools.
We offer support for creatives giving emerging artists and industry professionals the tools they need for a successful career in the music industry.
And we collaborate with Bristol’s diverse communities on projects to ensure music is at the heart of our city.
Our name
Our new name marks the start of an exciting new chapter as Bristol Beacon. A symbol of hope and community. A focal point for music in the city, buzzing with people having fun, making connections and weaving stories.
Make Space for Music
Alongside our programme of incredible live music, every day we work with young people, emerging artists, and communities to make musical experiences that change lives.
Because when we make space for music, we make space to connect, to play, to shine and to create amazing moments that last a lifetime.
Could you help us?
The difference music makes
We believe in creating and nurturing life-long relationships and coming together to share musical experiences.
Read our impact report to find out why what we do matters and how we positively impact Bristol communities through the joy of music.
The once-in-a-generation transformation of Bristol Beacon is underway to create one of the best and most accessible performance and music education venues in Europe.
Our brand new spaces will inspire music lovers and artists to come together to make, learn about and feel the joy in live music.
The full-scale refurbishment of the venue is nearly complete and Bristol Beacon will reopen in 2023 with two international standard performance venues, a bright new restaurant and our cellars in use for the first time as education and performance spaces.

Environmental Sustainability
We want to unite people and use our unique place as a music venue to amplify positive climate action and inspire everyone to think about their impact on the earth.
To ensure we can continue to celebrate music together for generations to come, we have set ourselves the target to become the UK’s first net zero concert hall by 2030.
