Adrian Riches to join Bristol Beacon as Development Director

Bristol Beacon is pleased to announce that Adrian Riches will be joining the organisation as Development Director on Mon 6 January 2025.

Following the reopening success of the £132m transformation of Bristol Beacon, Adrian will be joining the team to focus on the Beacon’s revenue fundraising strategy including working with Trusts and Foundations, corporate clients and developing relationships with new and existing donors.

As a charity, this role is vital in supporting Bristol Beacon to deliver its artistic programme of hundreds of live performances, its creative learning programme reaching over 30,000 young people every year, as well as its support for creatives that nurtures emerging talent, and its collaborative work with diverse communities.

Adrian has over ten years’ experience of working in the arts and charity sectors, including as Head of Sponsorship at Frieze Art Fair, held various roles at Tate and most recently was Head of Corporate Partnerships at Stonewall, supporting the charity’s vital work to improve the lives LGBTQ+ people everywhere.

Bristol Beacon’s Chief Executive Simon Wales said, “We are delighted that Adrian will be joining our senior leadership team in this crucial role. Bristol Beacon is a charity and without the support of generous donors, funders and Trusts and Foundations, our charitable work bringing music and music education to as many people as possible in Bristol and the South West would be not be possible.

Adrian really impressed us with his experience of developing partnerships and developing and maintaining strong networks and I am looking forward to working closely with him to drive forward our fundraising strategy at Bristol Beacon.”

I am honoured to have the opportunity to join Bristol Beacon at this moment in its history. I am excited to become part of Bristol’s vibrant cultural sector, and I look forward to meeting our closest friends, advocates, funders and supporters as we embark on a new chapter.
