Last weekend, Bristol once again became the proud host of the world’s greatest classical music festival: BBC Proms. And what a weekend it was!
We kicked off with a spellbinding collaboration between Paraorchestra and The Breath, blending folk-infused vocals with immersive orchestration in a performance that melded genres and defied expectations.
Friday evening brought the bold and boundary-pushing Late Junction Prom, curated by Verity Sharp. With artists who’ve carved their own sonic paths, the night was a celebration of musical individuality.
On Saturday, the Danish National Vocal Ensemble filled St George’s Bristol with crystalline harmonies and Nordic serenity, while later that day, Britten Sinfonia joined forces with violinists Zoë Beyers and Miranda Dale for a performance that shimmered with precision and passion. During the day the foyer was filled with performances from some of the region’s best up and coming artists at the BBC Introducing Stage.
We closed the weekend with a sun-drenched Italian journey courtesy of the Welsh National Opera Orchestra. Under the baton of Carlo Rizzi, Beacon Hall was transformed into a Mediterranean dreamscape.
Alongside the concerts, families explored sound in our much-loved Sunday Jam workshop, and singers of all ages came together for a sold-out ‘Come and Sing‘ celebration of Proms favourites.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for BBC Proms 2025 – it was a weekend of wonder, warmth, and world-class music.
