Watch Bristol Takeover 2021

On Saturday 20 November, we swung open the Foyer doors for our fourth edition of the Bristol Takeover.

Following the success of 2020’s online Takeovers, we brought the festival back ‘in real life’ this year and live-streamed the whole event so that those who couldn’t be there in person didn’t miss out on any of the fun.

The day started off with a calm intimate performance from Samatha Lindo, setting the scene for the rest of the day. Then performances from Lebo, Kwazi + TAE, Amy May Ellis, and Herbal Tea followed, each showcasing a unique sound and what makes the Bristol music scene so exciting.

The evening saw energetic performances from the likes of Grove and Griz-O, who joined each other on stage to perform their collaborative track ‘Black’.

From 6pm, local FM radio station SWU hosted the Terrace stage, platforming exciting underground DJs and hip-hop collective Split Prophets who arguably took the title for biggest energy performance of the day.

“Takeover to me is a day of incredibly eclectic music which is just the epitome of the Bristol music scene. It brings Bristol musicians far and wide celebrating and biggin’up one another. Local musicians are the beating heart of the ever-thriving scene we have here in Bristol and to have a day like Takeover is just the best.
