Care home residents from across the region enjoyed a memorable afternoon of live orchestral music at Bristol Beacon on Tuesday 16 June, as Aurora Orchestra performed at the venue’s annual Care Homes Concert, supported by Bristol Care Homes.
The special performance saw 144 residents from 18 care homes, carers and family members welcomed to Beacon Hall for an immersive presentation of Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony by the internationally acclaimed Aurora Orchestra. Performing entirely from memory, the musicians moved among the audience throughout the concert, creating a unique and engaging experience that encouraged participation and connection.
Designed specifically for care home communities, the annual event aims to improve access to high-quality cultural experiences for older people while supporting wellbeing through the power of live music. The annual Care Homes Concert is one of a number of initiatives delivered through Bristol Beacon’s Creative Health & Wellbeing programme. Now in its fourth year, the event brings care home residents from across Bristol together for a shared cultural experience in one of the city’s landmark venues.
The concert was delivered in collaboration with Aurora Orchestra and supported by Bristol Care Homes, with additional support from Christie & Co.
