This month we celebrated the achievements of young musicians in schools across the city. Bridgehouse at Bristol Beacon was filled with the sounds of the Earthsong symphony orchestra.
The orchestra was made up of children from 13 primary schools participating in the Earthsong Programme. Each school have been learning parts separately, and this was their chance to come together to play as an ensemble. After a day of rehearsals, it was standing room only for the teachers, parents and friends who were invited to listen to the final performance.
The schools who have progressed through the programme, are offered whole-school musical assemblies each year to reach all children and support and grow the schools’ musical culture.
The Earthsong Programme, created in partnership with the Earthsong Foundation, aims to prepare students for music in secondary school and lifelong musical experiences in adult life.
