From Friday 16 to Sunday 18 August, we were honoured to host Hand in Hand Festival, the UK and Ireland’s biennial LGBTQ+ choral festival, as it made its debut in Bristol for a weekend celebrating the joy of music and the warmth of community at our transformed venue.

Over the course of three days, over 50 choirs from the UK and Ireland came together in Bristol for a meticulously crafted programme of breathtaking performances, inspiring workshops and joyful social activities that included a phenomenal Gala Concert on Saturday 17 August, as well a full day of singing throughout the city on Sunday 18 August as Hand in Hand brought the festival to Bristol.

We’re so grateful to have hosted this incredible festival, providing a space for solidarity and celebration for LGBTQ+ choirs, with participants including Barberfellas, Cardiff Trans Singers, Laura and the Lesbians, Dublin Gay Men’s Chorus, Sing out Brussels and many more.

Take a look at our highlights from the weekend’s events with photography by Soul Media.
