Looking back at the first year of our Resident Artists project: Resident Artist Video Diaries

A person with dreadlocks looks intently towards the camera, posing in front of a white backdrop.

Last week, we shared the final video diaries from our 2024/25 Resident Artists – Grove, Holysseus Fly and Waldo’s Gift – with each act sharing their stories and experiences of the residency, in their own distinct styles.

The three artists joined us as our first ever Resident Artists in autumn 2024. The project, supported by PRS Foundation, is designed to support the needs of emerging talent within Bristol, providing them with the time, space, funding and resources necessary to elevate their careers and acts as a crucial catalyst for supercharging their development.

Join Grove, Holysseus Fly and Waldo’s Gift as they reflect on their time as part of our Resident Artists project – from experimenting with new sounds and recording techniques, honing their live shows and working with industry professionals to refine their craft.

As these diaries wrap up the first year of the project, our new Resident Artists cohort for 2025/26 are now announced: Kayla Painter, Lady Nade and Tlya X An (TXN). Find out more about our new cohort of incredible talent here.

Keep reading to view each of the 2024/25 artists’ video diaries.

At one point in my life, I didn’t even know if I’d still be here. […] I care about this so much and I’m so excited to share more with the world. It’s a real honour.
