We join forces with London Symphony Orchestra once again for live broadcast to care homes

Following a national broadcast of our concert with London Symphony Orchestra from Bath Forum in October 2021, we are once again collaborating to live stream the forthcoming LSO performance to care homes across the country.

The concert in October featured in national TV news coverage and inspired joy among the many care home residents who tuned in. Following the success and wonderful feedback from the first concert, we’ve teamed up with Bath Forum and the renowned orchestra, conducted by the celebrated Sir Simon Rattle, to once again offer a free live broadcast to care homes nationwide.

The concert will be broadcast live via YouTube at 6.45pm on Monday 14 March, and will be available for one month so care homes can screen it for their residents at a time that suits them.

Hosted by organist a journalist Oliver Condy, any care home in the country can tune in for free and are invited to screen the concert for staff and residents.

“After the really wonderful and emotional response we had to our broadcast in October, we once again look forward to sharing the sheer joy of a London Symphony Orchestra concert with care home residents and staff.”

Louise Mitchell, Chief Executive of Bristol Beacon

This concert will continue to build on our strong artistic relationship with the London Symphony Orchestra ahead of the reopening of our performance spaces in 2023.

Our partnership with Bristol Care Homes, who have sponsored this free live stream, has helped us to reach music-lovers beyond the walls of our venue.

“To be forming a close partnership with Bristol Beacon on high-quality broadcasts of concerts like this is really fantastic.

Geoff Crocker, Chair of Bristol Care Homes

“The pandemic has been challenging for everyone, particularly care home residents and staff, but the use of technology to share such magical performances in this innovative way is a real legacy that we will continue to support”.

The broadcast is made possible thanks to sponsorship by Bristol Care Homes, who wanted to extend the opportunity to watch the concert to all care homes across the country as many still contend with the impacts of the pandemic.
