Bristol Youth Studios is a new modern music programme created by Bristol Beacon for 13 – 18 year olds.

Bristol Youth Studios is a space to experiment with music, try something new and collaborate with others. Recreate some of your favourite tracks or work on your own original music whilst learning music production, DJ skills, rap and vocals.
DJ Sparks is a new programme for young musicians wanting to start learning to DJ.
Catering to beginners aged 12-18, the course spends a double-term of 10 sessions teaching foundational knowledge and skills. Whether you’re completely new to modern music making, or just wanting to try something different, DJ Sparks is open to anyone!

Bristol Youth Studio sessions are flexible and led by the interests of the participants, with the option of group and individual tuition.

DJ Sparks is a new programme for beginners aged 12-18 who wish to learn DJing.
Students with no experience can join these sessions and be taught the basics by our skilled tutor team of professional musicians in our state-of-the-art new Cellars: Sound Studios facility at Bristol Beacon.

Javeon
Javeon
Lead tutor Javeon is a singer and songwriter.
He has had tracks featured as Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record In The World and on Mistajam’s Inbox Fresh, rated by Idris Elba and Groove Armada. He is a sought after songwriter and has worked with artists including: Tory Lanez, Clean Bandit and 5AM.
Javeon has has also previously worked alongside Bristol Beacon as an artist mentor as part of our creative development programmes.
Chiara
Chiara
Chiara is a producer, DJ and label owner.
Alongside performing, Chiara has worked as a music educator for Creative Youth Network, BIMM Bristol and in theatre sound production.
Her passion for underground music developed the creation of two event companies along with track releases on bass focused labels, and radio plays on Subtle FM, Noods radio and BBC introducing.
Kat
Kat
Kat is a vocalist, songwriter, arranger and producer.
She is the founder of Choir Noir and has provided vocals/arrangements for artists including Bring Me The Horizon, Ed Sheeran and Architects. Her work has featured on two UK #1 albums and has performed at venues including the Royal Albert Hall and Camden Roundhouse.
She toured internationally with Bring Me The Horizon, including shows at Lollapalooza Chicago, Glastonbury and Radio 1’s Big Weekend. She also has experience as a touring session bass player, video editor, topline writer and session guitarist for TV shows including The Voice.
Jack
Jack
Jack is a grime MC and rapper.
He has released three albums and worked with MCs including Eyez, Hitman and Jammz and has performed at venues including Motion and Lakota as well as Love Saves the Day Festival.
In 2019 he became the first Bristolian to make it onto Lord of the Mics, a project by grime artist Jammer of recorded ‘clashes’ between MCs.
Miles
Miles
Miles is a producer, writer and vocalist.
He is currently focussing on two projects: Try Me and Hector Who Lived.
Try Me has received multiple national radio plays and have been featured as ‘future artist’ on Jack Sauders Radio 1 show. They headlined venues such as Exchange, Louisiana and Crofters Rights. They collaborated with Bristol Drum and Bass producer Axel Boy to write ‘Don’t Be Shady’ – the song is nearing the 2 million stream mark on Spotify.
Hector Who Lived is a newer creation. The debut EP has recently been released with plays from both BBC Radio 6 and Introducing.
Miles also works as a guitar tutor and with community music projects through Bristol Beacon.
