What’s Included

As a recipient you are eligible to access:

  • Free music lessons for Primary and Secondary aged children
  • Free places on Bristol Beacon ensembles, groups or choirs
  • Free places at our summer school, activities or workshops

Who is this bursary for?

This bursary is for care experienced young people. Care experienced young people are individuals who have spent time in the care of a local authority, such as foster care, residential care, or kinship care, at any point during their childhood.

How to apply

For music lessons

For music lessons booked through Bristol Beacon:

  1. Select the ‘Children in Care’ box when applying for a lesson through Bristol Beacon on SpeedAdmin
  2. We will contact your school / Hope Virtual School directly for confirmation
  3. We will apply the discount to your SpeedAdmin account
  4. We will contact the child’s social worker and/or foster carrer, where appropriate

For Ensembles, Choirs and Groups

For ensembles booked through Bristol Beacon:

  1. Select the ‘Children in Care’ box when applying for an ensemble, group or choir through Bristol Beacon on SpeedAdmin
  2. We will contact your school / Hope Virtual School directly for confirmation
  3. We will apply the discount to your SpeedAdmin account
  4. We will contact the child’s social worker and/or foster carrer, where appropriate

Join an ensemble

 

For instrument hire

We supply free instrument hire for all students on Pupil Premium, EHCP and Care Experienced Young People.

  1. Select the ‘Children in Care’ box when applying for a instrument hire through Bristol Beacon on SpeedAdmin
  2. We will contact your school to check your child’s status
  3. We will apply the discount to your SpeedAdmin account
  4. After completing your application, email bookings@bristolbeacon.org to let us know you have applied for free hire.
