What’s Included
As a recipient you are eligible to access:
- 25% discount off music lessons for Primary and Secondary aged students
- Free instrument hire
- Free spaces to attend our annual Primary Orchestra Workshop
Who is this bursary for?
This bursary is for pupils receiving Pupil Premium, which means those eligible for free school meals and/or those who are service children.

How to apply for the bursary
For music lessons
There are two ways for you to access the bursary for music lessons depending on whether you booked your music lessons via Bristol Beacon, or through your school.
For music lessons booked through Bristol Beacon:
- Select the ‘Pupil Premium’ box when applying for a lesson through Bristol Beacon on SpeedAdmin
- We will contact your school to check your child’s Pupil Premium status
- We will apply the discount to your SpeedAdmin account
For music lessons booked through your school:
- Speak to your school about discounts they might be able to support you with
- Apply for discounts your school offers directly with your school
For instrument hire
We supply free instrument hire for all students on Pupil Premium, EHCP and Care Experienced Young People.
- Select the ‘Pupil Premium’ box when applying for a instrument hire through Bristol Beacon on SpeedAdmin
- We will contact your school to check your child’s status
- We will apply the discount to your SpeedAdmin account
- After completing your application, email bookings@bristolbeacon.org to let us know you have applied for free hire.
For workshops
Free places are available on some workshops (eg Primary Orchestra Workshop).
