BLOOM

A music group for parents experiencing mental health difficulties, and their babies

BLOOM is a group that uses music and sound in a playful and safe way for mums, dads and babies.

Created in partnership with Bluebell care, BLOOM offers new parents who are experiencing mental health difficulties an opportunity to make music, or just listen and absorb. Come to a session to relax, have fun, and learn new things to bring home with you.

No musical experience is needed, everyone is welcome.

Please note: BLOOM sessions are now paused until further notice – if you are experiencing mental health difficulties, please contact your healthcare provider.

I feel like in terms of my mental health, I’m just singing all the time at home. I just feel so much happier.”

Attending BLOOM

BLOOM is for any new or expectant parents who might be experiencing mental health difficulties. These can include feelings like:

  • Overwhelm and inability to switch off
  • Anxiety
  • Stopping enjoying the things you loved
  • A sense of detachment from your baby

What is Bluebell care?

Bluebell is a charity that support parents with their perinatal mental health and wellbeing.

‘Perinatal’ is a word that means ‘around birth’. So this means Bluebell works to provide emotional well-being during pregnancy and during the first year after birth.

All of Bluebell’s services are free, including the projects created in partnership with Bristol Beacon.

BLOOM sessions are currently paused until further notice.

Apologies for any inconvenience.

If you are experiencing mental health difficulties, please contact your healthcare provider.
