Accessibility Statement
Updated: November 2024
This accessibility statement applies to bristolbeacon.org.
This website is run by Bristol Beacon. We welcome everyone to Bristol Beacon and want our building, spaces and website to be available to all.
This means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this website is
During the design and development of this website, we consulted with accessibility specialists.
We are now in the process of conducting annual website accessibility assessments against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 and best practices.
We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:
- Some parts of a third-party booking system Spektrix may be incompatible with some assistive technologies. Spektrix are aware of the areas that are incompatible and are working towards improving them.
- Most older PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software. Where possible we provide a Google Docs link and/or a Word Document download in addition to PDF documents.
- Most live streams will not be BSL signed. But all live steams and videos will include captions, often these will use automated software.
