Bristol International Jazz & Blues Festival takes place at Colston Hall, O2 Academy and The Folk House from Thursday, March 16th to Sunday, March 19th 2017.
From swing to funk, bebop to blues, Gypsy jazz to gospel, soul to rock ‘n roll, Bristol Jazz & Blues Festival never fails to surprise and delight music lovers. The festival’s genre-traversing line-up is a ‘This is Your Life’ of jazz and blues – a journey through the decades from the birth of jazz to the current day.
This year’s line-up features the wonderful Macy Gray, a live show from prolific producer and musician Quantic featuring Alice Russell, the world premiere of Andy Sheppard’s Metropolis live score, a big band tribute to the legendary Dizzy Gillespie led by his friend and fellow be-bop founder, Bobby Shew and ‘Sounds for Spies & Private Eyes’ – a musical spectacular featuring Adrian Utley (Portishead), Will Gregory (Goldfrapp), The Army Of Generals string orchestra and an 18-piece Big Band.
