Join Colston Hall for a New Year’s Eve to remember, featuring performances from Bellowhead, Spiro and Brass Roots.
If there’s a better way to see in the new year than with Bellowhead “the greatest live act in Britain” (Radio 2’s Simon Mayo), we’re all ears. The multi-instrumentalist Radio 2 Folk Award-winners will perform twice, taking us into 2014 with a bang.
The festivities continue throughout the Hall with pop-up performances filling every nook and cranny. Catch rambunctious septet Brassroots, who “make a mighty fine racket” (WOMAD) with their brass-tinged pop covers alongside Bristol acoustic outfit Spiro.
This New Year’s Eve the Blind Tiger will put her winter slumber on hold.3 to celebrate in style. Transforming the Lantern Theatre at Colston Hall into a pounding, electric palace of decadence and glitz, she will be here to party, Arabian Nights style. Journey with us from this year to the next as we pull back the curtains, turn up the heat, and serve you a cocktail you will never forget.
Our old friends Little Bulb will rustle up some hot gypsy jazz and pseudo-fiesta funk that will be sure to set the tone, stir us out of our seats and on to the dance floor. We will also be welcoming acts to join them on the stage. So get out your party pieces and show us what you can do when the mood takes you. This exotic hang out will not fail to dazzle your senses and offer a taste of something wickedly unrehearsed. But beware: the Tiger’s lair is always full of surprises.
Under 16s must be accompanied
