Channelling Patti Smith, Woody Guthrie, 70s New York punk and Puerto Rican rhythms, Hurray For The Riff Raff return with a “heady sonic gumbo,” (NME). In their latest, critically-acclaimed album ‘Navigator’, frontwoman Alynda Segarra explores her Bronx/Puerto Rican roots with typical smoky vocals and finely-tuned lyrics to deliver songs that “just flow – slinky, sad or elegant in their own ways.” (Guardian). Performing at Bristol’s Trinity Centre, expect an irresistible blend of stories and sounds from a band that “reclaims folk’s protest roots and marries them to the sounds of the Caribbean” (Pitchfork).
This is a standing event at Trinity Centre. Support from fast-rising Bristol songstress Fenne Lily.
