Jasper Hoiby’s Fellow Creatures

Jasper Høiby’s Fellow Creatures is an exciting new collaboration from the Danish double bassist and composer. Featuring trumpeter Laura Jurd, saxophonist Mark Lockheart, pianist Will Barry and drummer Corrie Dick, this ensemble is a showcase of both emerging and experienced performers and Høiby’s first new venture since the 2005 formation of internationally renowned jazz trio Phronesis.

The music embodies a strong sense of groove and an optimistic and driving energy combined with atmospheric textures and contrasting rhythms. Described by Jazzwise as, masters of evolving energy, Jasper Høiby’s Fellow Creatures released their debut album on Edition Records in July 2016.
