Composer, performer and producer Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith absorbs and distills the sounds of the natural world around her to create blossoming three-dimensional soundscapes. Blissfully uniting organic and synthesised sounds, her latest album ‘EARS’ (2016) demonstrates her absolute versatility and capacity for evolution. She composed each song on her beloved analog synthesiser, the Buchla Music Easel, then incorporating her arrangements for live instrumentation and vocals before deconstructing it again with granular synth techniques. The resulting collection is a vibrant song of praise to wildlife and the power of imagination.
Support from Michael D. Wynn, an emerging electronica artist form Herefordshire who incorporates samples from a colourful range of music including St. Hildegard of Bingen, traditional Scandinavian hymnals and Marvin Gaye into his highly original music.
