Let Trumpets Sound

Part of Clifton International Festival of Music

An evening of music for trumpet and organ, demonstrating the excitement, sensitivity and versatility of this fiendish instrument.

Hear favourite duets including Jeremiah Clarke’s famous Trumpet Tune alongside less familiar gems from the trumpet’s repertoire spanning the centuries from Baroque masterpieces to brand new music from composer David Bednall.

Works for trumpet and organ are paired with Bach’s iconic Toccata and Fugue in D minor, a Baroque masterpiece full of drama and flourishes for organ.
