Sari Schorr, already an accomplished songwriter with tracks on major labels has written or co-written most of the songs on her new album. She joins this year’s festival in the midst of what is set to be a groundbreaking and memorable tour. We can’t wait to see her.
“Sari Schorr’s power vocals are a hybrid of Janis Joplin and Tina Turner, with a touch of a contemporary female blues singerlike Janiva Magnes” -Stephen Hanks for Broadway World
“Sari Schorr is the embodiment of the best the blues and beyond has to offer. Sari is definitely the next big blues diva that will sweep through the blues scene.” Big City Rhythm and Blues Magazine
Formerly known as Funkydory, UK rock and blues four-piece Northsyde have been touring and recording since 2005. Left-handed Mauricio’s unusual style (he strings the bass upside down)combined with Doyle’s forceful grooves give the band a sound unlike anyone else on the rock and blues circuit today. With each member citing a unique and varied range of influences, Northsyde are both eclectic and hard to define.
“Rain can’t dampen this fiery outfit… Jules is the best lead guitarist you’ve never heard of… Lorna’s voice is a match for any blues rock vocalist… Ian Mauricio’s fluid bass and Hayden Doyle’s powerful drumming perfectly underpinned the whole.” – Classic Rock Magazine – Blues Edition
