Bristol four-piece Scalping formed in 2017, after bonding over their shared love of Bristol’s visionary off-the-wall dance music and full throttle noise and punk.

Blending Alex Hill’s deep knowledge of idiosyncratic electronics, Isaac Jones’ tendency towards sticky instrumental hooks, James Rushforth’s Bristolian techno and Jamie Thomas’ avant-garde metal influenced injections, the band “blurs boundaries, pays tribute to their home city’s legendary soundsystems and gives the finger to genre purists” (NME).

Their stunning, mostly-improvised live shows are “disorientating, mesmerising and above all brilliant” (Bristol Post), marking them as one of the city’s most beloved and gifted bands in recent years.
