Tonight’s free foyer performance is from Sefrial

Already recognised through her work with Dakhla and Lady Nade, saxophonist Sophie Stockham put this band together to create a context to explore the contemporary art-jazz approaches of John Zorn, the Tin Hat Trio, Medeski/Martin/Wood and other US experimentalists. The quintet includes the adventurous tenor sax of Jake McMurchie, a highly creative foil to Stockham’s exploratory alto, with Joe Wilkins (guitar), Greg Cordez (bass) and Matt Brown (drums) and the music is an eclectic mix of contemporary ideas.
