The Pineapple Project – Pineapple Orchestra

Join us for this free concert in the foyer to experience a gig like no other. This unique orchestra is made up of people from all over Bristol, who have been brought together over the course of five rehearsals by artist Savinder Bual to perform with her custom made pineapple instruments. The orchestra will co-create a musical piece with composer Rowan Bishop.

Each instrument is beautifully crafted, and uses the rotating leaves of a pineapple to pluck, twang and drum. When brought together, they look and sound totally unique. The Pineapple Orchestra performance is the culmination of The Pineapple Project – an artistic response to the decision to reopen Colston Hall in 2020 with a new name.

This event is un-ticketed and open to all. We will be serving pineapple flavoured drinks and snacks and there will be the opportunity to play the instruments yourself after the gig.
