Since 2008’s debut album Krulle Bol, This Is the Kit have unpicked emotional knots and woven remarkable stories.

The project of Paris-based British musician Kate Stables, the band’s rootsy arrangements of banjo, horns, and gentle percussion provide a textured backdrop to her intimate tales of subtle chaos and immersive characters.

Releasing her fifth album Off Off On in 2020, the release shared an “overall message of gentle positivity,” (MOJO) that marked Stables “as one of the most original and musically gifted artists of today,” (The Independent).

Described as “their most multi-layered yet subtle work so far,” This is The Kit is an “unshowily spectacular,” project (Uncut).
