The music education hub for Bristol delivering learning opportunities to enrich the lives of young people.
Bristol Plays Music is based at our music centre in Southmead, offers learning opportunities for young people across Bristol.
Bristol is the UK’s most musical city, our ambition is to make Bristol the UK capital of young people’s music making. We aim to ensure that every child and young person has access to high quality music education and a platform for musical expression. Being a music education hub means having a strategic overview and taking wider responsibility for joining-up, supporting and promoting an inspiring culture of music making across the city.
Bristol Plays Music hub partners work together to give every child access to a range of music making opportunities, and experiences both in school and in the community.
The hub partnership welcomes schools, cultural organisations, educators, community groups, social enterprises, businesses and anyone with an interest in music education in the city of Bristol.

On Wednesday 23 September 2020 Colston Hall changed its name to Bristol Beacon.
Our new name is just the first step, it is about more than the sign above our door. Click below to find out more about how we’re changing, watch our name announcement, and discover how we want everyone to share in the joy of live music.
