Adult learning

We want to provide exciting creative learning opportunities for all abilities and learners. Working in partnership with learning providers such as WEA and CLT, we run a range of courses and workshops that help to develop skills, confidence and knowledge of working and volunteering in the creative industries and brings to life the history of Bristol Beacon.

Platform

Platform invites adults with additional needs or who are disabled to collaborate, create, rehearse and perform music using a mixture of assistive music technology and traditional instruments.

This is an exciting project we are running in partnership with Drake Music. Adults with a passion and interest in making music will come to accessible sessions, led by them and tailored to their interests/needs. Facilitated by friendly expert music leaders, there will be the opportunity to learn new skills in music:

  • performance
  • composition
  • improvisation
  • rhythm
  • singing
  • music technology – use of iPads and assistive musical instruments

Everyone is welcome, no previous experience of making music is necessary. If you or anyone you know might enjoy this, send us an email: giulia.bianchini@bristolbeacon.org or louisebetts@drakemusic.org

Welcome to
Bristol Beacon

On Wednesday 23 September 2020 Colston Hall changed its name to Bristol Beacon.

Our new name is just the first step, it is about more than the sign above our door. Click below to find out more about how we’re changing, watch our name announcement, and discover how we want everyone to share in the joy of live music.
