Welcome to Bristol Beacon, a music charity, renowned venue and award-winning music education hub.

The once-in-a-generation transformation of our performance spaces is in full flow. We will be reopening in autumn 2023 with a full programme of incredible live acts, creative learning opportunities and spaces for communities and audiences to be inspired by music and creativity.

Beacon Hall is a modern reworking of a classic design. A ‘shoebox’ shape which creates a world-class acoustic, it marries the venue’s 150+ year heritage with contemporary aesthetics and international standard technology.

Catering for gigs, orchestral concerts, large conferences and everything in between, the space delivers an incredible atmosphere and live experience in multiple audience configurations.

Lantern Hall will be remodelled into an elegant and dynamic performance venue. Audiences will step from the new foyer, and stunningly artist-designed Lantern bar, into a modern reworking of the historic spaces of the Victorian hall, creating a versatile space which by day might host a wedding and by night the most cutting-edge artists.

Our unique and highly atmospheric cellars were used throughout the 19th century as Bristol’s original customs warehouse. They will be opened up for the first time in 100 years to create a state of the art education centre, workspace for performing arts enterprises and a brand new performance space dedicated to supporting and nurturing emerging creatives.

Renamed and reimagined, our entrance hall can be transformed into a vibrant performance space.

 

Key features

  • Bridgehouse Performance Space can be configured in several formats depending on the requirements of
    your event including fully seated, cabaret or standing formats.
  • Areas of the space can be set aside to allow patrons using wheelchairs access to events.
  • Various size stages can be installed depending on the requirements of the performance.
  • Stage 4m deep x 6m wide, 6m height
  • 1m stage extension options
  • There is a small mixer position at the rear of the space (2x2m)
  • Dedicated top specification in-house PA and lighting set-up
  • Located next to our cafe, Bristol Loaf, which serves various drinks and wines during performances.
