This popular session highlights how you can prepare your school for Ofsted ‘Deep Dives’ in music.

Lead by outstanding practitioners, you will be taken through OFSTED’s methodology for inspections and how to ensure you are best prepared. The aim is to support you to assess your school’s musical offer and for you to be able to identify its strengths and weaknesses. The session will look in more detail at effective progression in music. We’ll also consider what cultural capital means in 2023. And there’s guidance on what should be on the to-do list of a subject lead preparing for a Deep Dive.

What you will gain from the session:

• An understanding of OFSTED’s methodology for Deep Dives
• An increased understanding of progression (and demonstrating/evidencing progression) in music
• The right things to have on your to-do lists for your subject leadership time
