The Roundhouse Poetry Slam is the UK’s leading spoken word competition and over the last 20 years has helped launch the careers of countless poets and writers. It’s not just a competition – it’s a celebration of the power of words and the artists who wield them.

Join the celebrations for the Bristol heat and witness some of the most exciting voices in the UK at the start of their journeys.

Calling poets and spoken word artists! The Roundhouse Poetry Slam in partnership with Taylor Wessing is back and they’re looking for emerging artists nationwide to step up to the mic.

The top ten poets from across the country will take part in the final in the iconic Roundhouse Main Space on Thu 9 Apr as part of Roundhouse Three Sixty Festival.

Cellars at Bristol Beacon

Getting to the venue

Location: Weston Stage is located within Bristol Beacon. Head to Lower Ground (LG) and follow signs to Cellars and Weston Stage.

  Bicycle

Bicycle racks can be found in front of the main entrance on Trenchard Street, Colston Street, and on the city centre promenade. Find your nearest cycle routes using Cycle Planner.

Car parking

Trenchard Street multi-storey car park is 200m away, directly behind Bristol Beacon.

  Bristol Clean Air Zone

Bristol Beacon is inside the Bristol Clean Air Zone. Check if your vehicle will be charged and how much you’ll have to pay.

  Bus

Most bus services stop in and around the city centre promenade, 250m from Bristol Beacon.

Mobility

Weston Stage has level access from street level.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs and emotional support animals are allowed in the performance space. If you prefer, you can leave your animal with a member of staff during the performance.

Hearing Facility

A Sennheiser MobileConnect assistive listening system is installed in the venue. Download the free App and use your own mobile device and headphones to listen to the performance. (Devices are available on request.)
