Calling all singers and musicians, come join ‘Today’s the Day’: Bristol Beacon’s Community Band!

Do you love singing in the shower or playing around with an instrument, but aren’t sure how to take it further?

Have you ever caught yourself thinking, “I wish I sang or played more,” but haven’t quite found the time, space, or confidence to do it?

Have you always dreamed of singing with a live band?

Then Community Band is for you!

Come join us to:

What is Community Band?

We are an intergenerational group of musicians, writing and playing music together. We are led by a team of talented musicians and during our weekly sessions, we improvise, write songs, rehearse for live performances, and most importantly, connect and have fun!

This new music ensemble for ages 16+, and all musical abilities, instruments and voices. Led by social musician and practitioner Hugh Nankivell, we are also joined by Bristol Beacon’s Community Musicians who are well-experienced in making music with people of all abilities and backgrounds.

Age: 16+ Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult
(No ticket required for parent/guardian if not participating).

Please note that these rehearsals take place at Beacon Music Centre, Stanton Road, BS10 5SJ. Future Community Band performances will take place at Bristol Beacon, BS1 5AR.

Payment Information

This is a ‘Pay What You Can’ ticketed event. This means there are fixed prices for tickets and you decide which level you would like to pay.

Ticket prices are £0.00, £3.50, £7.00 and £14.50.

Book a £0.00 value ticket in advance to reserve your space. Sessions are to be paid for in person on the day, at Beacon Music Centre, via cash or card.

Beacon Music Centre has an on-site car park which is free to use for visitors.

Beacon Music Centre is outside the Bristol Clean Air Zone. View a map of the Zone and check if your vehicle will be charged.
