A group of musicians sits in a music studio, holding clarinets and clapping, dressed in colorful casual attire.

Do you have a cello in your attic collecting dust? Have you always dreamed of playing music in a group but never picked up an instrument? Or are you an enthusiastic musician looking to make music with new people?

We are excited to be launching Today’s the Day: Bristol Beacon Community Band.

Join us for two taster sessions at Beacon Music Centre to give it a go, and even get involved in some consultation for this exciting new group. Regular Community Band session will commence from October – December 2025.

This fun new music ensemble is for ages 16+, all musical abilities, instruments and voices. Led by social musician and practitioner Hugh Nankivell, this ensemble will meet regularly to jam, create music, and work towards performing together. You will also be joined by Bristol Beacon’s Community Musicians who are well-experienced in making music with people of all abilities and backgrounds.

So come along, bring your friends, your family, your instrument, or just yourself, and see what being in an inclusive community band is all about!
