Shine Training

A knowledge & skills course for your next step into the world of work

Shine Training is our free, friendly two-week long employability course for 18–21 year-olds. If you’re ready to expand your knowledge of the world of work and develop your skills, this course is the perfect first step towards your career.

Designed for young people who aren’t currently in education, employment or training, Shine Training uses creativity as a way to develop life skills. You don’t need experience – just curiosity and a willingness to take part.

It feels like I’ve been introduced into a space in my life where I can thrive.”

About the course

Shine Training sits alongside our skills and talent development programme and supports young people from across the South West.

The two-week intensive course uses the arts and music as a tool to build employability, confidence and workplace readiness. Through practical creative activity and group learning, you’ll develop personal, social and professional skills in a supportive environment, as well as meet new people and feel more prepared for work.

We particularly encourage young people to apply who may face barriers to work, including care leavers, disabled and neurodivergent young people, and those under-represented in the creative industries.
