Led by world class saxophonist Andy Sheppard joined by three of the most innovative instrumentalists the UK has to offer, ‘East Coast’ comes to Bristol as part of Jazzata’s 40th Anniversary concert series.

Largely penned by Sheppard during his time residing in the coast of Portugal during the pandemic, this new project sees the renowned saxophonist exploring new sonic territories as a response to his newfound inspiration from coastal landscapes and sounds.

It was perfectly fitting therefore, that its UK premiere was at the First Light Festival, celebrating one cycle of midsummer sun setting and rising over the beach in England’s most easterly town. It was then reprised for the Cork Jazz Festival in Ireland.
