As part of BBC Proms this year, Bristol Beacon and BBC Proms are once again joining forces with BBC Introducing to present a free showcase of rising talent from across the region.
Taking place on the afternoon of Sat 8 Aug, this free entry event is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in live performances from a specially curated line-up of some of the most exciting up and coming talent from the West of England.
This year’s showcase features the folklore inspired, arresting storytelling prowess of singer-songwriter ÂELLIN, the mesmerising soundscapes of multidisciplinary artist Pem, and the evocative folk-pop of singer-songwriter SEREN.

ÂELLIN
Cited as “a force to be reckoned with in the UK experimental folk scene” by BBC Introducing, Âellin is the musical project of multi-instrumentalist and lyricist Siân Magill, weaving the acoustic traditions of folk-songcraft with immersive sonic textures..
Spanning a wide variety of genres including folk, jazz and ambient – Âellin invites listeners into an ethereal auditory world, rich with themes of collective memory, dream states and the unconscious realm, culminating in an experience that is deeply human as it is otherworldly.
Pem
Hailing from a small town outside of Basingstoke, Bristol-based multidisciplinary artist, songwriter and gardener Pem blends the organic and the stylised – marrying earthy, yet elusive songwriting with analogue crackles, synth and string-based sound design, and field recordings.
Praised as “one to watch” by The Guardian and The Observer, Pem has been championed by BBC 6Music, Rolling Stone UK and NME, and performed alongside high-profile artists such as Mary and the Junkyard, Honeyglaze and The Last Dinner Party.
SEREN
20-year old singer-songwriter SEREN possesses a quiet power – utilising soulful vocals and a formidable, introspective lyrical prowess to tackle everything from the past and her identity, to the uncertainty of the future with an unapologetic conviction that has made her a fast-rising star within the region’s independent music scene.
Since releasing her debut EP in 2025, SEREN has featured as BBC introducing’s ‘Artist of the week’, appeared on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch show, and even performed at O2 Academy Brixton earlier this year supporting Only The Poets.

The city centre bus stop is 250m from Bristol Beacon where most bus services stop.

Mobility
Bridgehouse has level access from street level with lifts to all levels. For unallocated seated performances, seats can easily be removed to accommodate wheelchairs.
Assistance Dogs
Registered assistance dogs and emotional support animals are allowed in the venue.
Hearing Facility
There is an induction loop at the box office. You can use this by adjusting your hearing aid to the ‘T’ setting. There is no hearing loop facility for the foyer stage.
