An ensemble of young musicians perform together on stage.

Bristol Beacon Jazz Blueprints offers young musicians an entry point into the expansive and eclectic world of Jazz. Catering to instrumentalists at an intermediate level, this group rehearses and performs highly varied repertoire (ranging from Dixieland to Aretha Franklin) in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Focusing less on group performance and more on developing playing technique, the goal of Jazz Blueprints is to encourage confident stylistic interpretation of written melody and rhythm. Students will have the opportunity to attain foundational skills such as swing, phrasing, and sight-reading.

Instrumental players of roughly a grade 2-5 playing level or equivalent who have an interest in Jazz are encouraged to join!
