ONLINE Oak Music Curriculum Training: Adopt

Online

Created by Bristol Beacon and Cathedral Schools Trust, the free Oak National Academy Primary Music Curriculum launched in 2025 to support inclusive and joyful music education for every primary pupil.

Now, the creators of the curriculum are offering online CPD courses to help teachers put it into practice. Designed with busy primary schools in mind, the sessions are practical and focus on real classroom experience.

About this session

Our Adopt implementation session supports teachers and leaders to embed the Oak Primary Music Curriculum confidently and sustainably across their setting. Combining practical leadership strategies with classroom-focused guidance, the session explores how to plan for successful implementation, build staff confidence and establish consistent approaches to music teaching.

Using real school examples and practical tools, you’ll explore what effective implementation looks like, how to create the conditions for pupils to thrive musically and how to support colleagues throughout the implementation process. The session also includes a ready-to-use staff meeting that can be adapted and shared with colleagues to support whole-school understanding and engagement.

By the end of the session, you will have practical strategies, leadership tools and the confidence to implement the curriculum successfully, helping you build a consistent, sustainable and high-quality music provision across your school.
