ONLINE Oak Music Curriculum Training: Adapt

Online

Created by Bristol Beacon and Cathedral Schools Trust, the free Oak National Academy Primary Music Curriculum launched in 2025 to support inclusive and joyful music education for every primary pupil.

Now, the creators of the curriculum are offering online CPD courses to help teachers put it into practice. Designed with busy primary schools in mind, the sessions are practical and focus on real classroom experience.

About this session

Our Adapt session supports teachers and school leaders to personalise the Oak Primary Music Curriculum while maintaining its ambition and progression. Combining curriculum design with practical classroom guidance, the session explores how to adapt Oak’s materials to reflect your school’s context, curriculum vision and community, while ensuring music teaching remains inclusive, responsive and accessible for every pupil.

Using practical examples and real school scenarios, you’ll explore manageable approaches to adapting lessons and resources, building staff confidence and creating greater ownership of your music curriculum without compromising progression or quality.

By the end of the session, you’ll have the knowledge, strategies and confidence to personalise the curriculum for your setting, creating an inclusive musical environment in which every pupil can participate, progress and flourish.

Who it’s for?

  • Class teachers
  • Music subject leads
  • SEND-focussed staff
  • Schools developing inclusive practice
  • Schools that have already adopted the Oak Primary Music Curriculum and are ready to personalise it for their own setting
