Bristol Jazz 2023 opens with a special evening featuring two concerts from Jack Calloway Quintet and a special concert to celebrate the music of the late Pee Wee Ellis.

Jack Calloway brings his all new A-List Quintet to kick off the festival from 6pm with their mix of hot jazz and swing.

Following at 8pm key members of the legendary Pee Wee Ellis Assembly, plus fabulous musicians and friends from the local music scene, come together to celebrate Pee Wee Ellis, who sadly died in 2021, and his amazing musical career of more than 60 years as a composer, arranger, band leader and inspirational tenor saxophone player.

Both concerts are included in the Friday evening ticket.
