The Senior levels of Bristol Youth Choir have both an Upper Voices and Lower Voices sections for singers in school years 8-13.

These choirs rehearse and perform both separately and together and sing a wide repertoire from part-songs, close harmony, spirituals and anthems to large-scale classical works. All members are given vocal coaching to develop their confidence and singing technique.

The Lower Voices choir is aimed at singers with Tenor and Bass voices. Boys with changing voices are also welcome to join.

School years: 8-13

This ensemble is part of our Young Companies in Residence programme, supported by Paragon Music Trust, Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation, Bristol University Music Society and individual sponsors.

Entry to Bristol Youth Choir is by audition. There are no grade or standard requirements to join Bristol Youth Choir – all we ask for is a love of singing! For the audition, young singers will be asked to do some voice tests and exercises with one of our friendly conductors.

Auditions for this year are planned to take place in person on the afternoon/early evening of Friday 1 September 2023.
