Photograph of Cass McCombs staring into the distance.

Cass McCombs crafts striking alt-pop incantations imbued with enigmatic poeticism. For his tenth studio album, the American musician and songwriter brought country singer Wynonna Judd on board alongside the likes of Cactus Moser, Shahzad Ismaily and jazz multi-instrumentalist Kassa Overall.

The forthcoming new record, entitled ‘Heartmind’, continues to expand McCombs’ legacy of sharp observational lyricism and intricate instrumentation. Within his music McCombs distils a wealth of sonic elements ranging from psychedelia, folk and Americana to alt-country and rock, making for a gracefully infectious listen.

Support from

Kolumbo

Since he was a landlocked Dallas, Texas kid, beach culture has held a tropical mystique for Kolumbo composer, arranger, keyboardist Frank LoCrasto. Family trips documented by camcorder videos, featuring slinky jazz-fusion soundtracks are etched in the Brooklyn-based artist’s memory.

These days, LoCrasto uses his imagination to create dreamy musical locales with the Brooklyn-based, Tropically-minded Kolumbo. The tiki-jazz torchbearers are releasing their debut full-length album, conjuring the lush sounds of symphonic 1950s and 1960s exotica.
