A 2000s feeling studio image of a person laying on a plain coloured backdrop, wearing a gorp core style zip waterproof. They have their eyes closed and resting their head against their left hand.

Described as a traditional jazz head raised in the age of the internet, Scottish composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Liam Shortall, aka corto.alto, has had an incredible string of success.

Following the Mercury Prize-shortlisted Bad With Names, the Glasgow-based project has quickly become one of the UK’s most exciting live acts, fusing tight jazz musicianship with hip-hop, broken beat and electronic textures. Their high-energy shows—backed by a killer live band—have lit up stages at Montreux, We Out Here, and most recently SXSW 2025.

With support from tastemakers like Gilles Peterson, Jamie Cullum and Jazz FM, this is a rare chance to catch corto.alto in an intimate setting.
