The original and legendary Rebel Dread Don Letts joins forces with Bristol’s own queen of the bass line Queen Bee for an intimate night in Bristol Beacon’s new Cellars space. Expect a night of dub, reggae and bass heavy music.
Don Letts is a pioneering DJ known around the globe for his dynamic sets that blend old and new school dub reggae. He has consistently been at the forefront of music as well as at the helm of numerous films as a director. After his DJ stint at the legendary Roxy club almost single-handedly generated a groundbreaking cross-cultural dialogue between the emerging punk movement and reggae music in the late 1970s, he went on to form the fusion band Basement 5. Since then, Don’s DJ sets have electrified major festivals worldwide, including Glastonbury, Bestival, and Massive Attack’s Meltdown.
Alongside his DJ career, Don has released several influential compilation albums, continuing to push the boundaries of music and the audio/visual medium.

When underground dance music and Jamaican sound system culture collided in the late 1980s, Bristol’s Queen of the bass line was firmly at the controls. She continues to earn her place amongst dance floor royalty, from forming female DJ collectives and talent agencies, working as Massive Attack’s regular tour DJ, and regular sets across Europe and beyond.
