Ready to take your drumming to the next level? Join us for an introduction to the world of drumline performance, designed specifically for drum kit students aged 11-16 who are working at Grade 3 standard or above.
This workshop will focus on developing creativity, musicality, drum beats, fills and chops. You will explore drum kit beats from the book Flipping Beats written by workshop leader Adam Teixeira. Starting with warm ups, techniques, rudiments and stick control in a progressive practice pad group session, you will extend these to snares and bass drums in a group music making session to experience the energy of playing together in a drum line.
This workshop is part of our brand new Percussion Series of fresh opportunities for aspiring drummers to play in groups and explore a variety of percussion ensembles.

About the workshop lead
Adam Teixeira is a Grammy Award–winning drummer, percussionist, educator, and author from Toronto, Canada. Known for his dynamic, ever-evolving sound that seamlessly bridges jazz, world music, groove, and beyond, Adam’s artistry reflects an expansive global musical journey spanning more than 20 years of live performance, studio work, and music education.
Adam is also the self-published author of Flipping Beats, a forward-thinking instructional book designed to help drummers break free from routine rhythms and unlock fresh creative possibilities. Through his writing and teaching, he continues to influence the next generation of drummers, encouraging innovation, confidence, and authenticity in their playing.
