Three people in casual t-shirts and shirts sat in an open room which is under construction

Pianist Eddie Gripper opens the night with music from his 2026 album Americana, inspired by an 8,000km hitchhiking journey from Alaska to California.

Composed with nothing but manuscript paper and pencil, the trio’s set captures wide-open horizons and restless adventure, blending lyricism with fearless improvisation.

The second set belongs to Mark Lockheart’s new trio, Shapeshifter. Known for pushing British jazz forward, Lockheart and his band shift fluidly through jazz, rock and free improvisation, mixing original music with bold takes on Bill Frisell and Joe Henderson.

Expect dark textures, dramatic turns and music that thrives on the unexpected.
