Meet the house band
Simon Panrucker
Simon is a multi-instrumentalist and will be playing instruments like Saxophone, Keytar, and synthesiser in the house band. You might catch him singing or rapping too! Simon has written music for cartoons like Clarence and The Fungies, and also likes to make up songs about things on the spot. Simon works in Bristol Beacon’s wellbeing groups for children and adults, and loves creating things with people!
Simon’s first ever gig was playing Christmas carols on his saxophone when he was at primary school!
In terms of the Family gigs he’s looking forward to making a joyful noise and having the most fun possible with everyone who comes.

Sisanda Myataza
South African-born Sisanda will be our House Band vocalist in October! Great granddaughter of choral composer BB Myataza, Sisanda weaves Jazz, R&B, and Afro-fusion with the storytelling tradition of her Xhosa heritage.
Winner of the ESP Young Legends Award at the Cape Town Jazz Festival 2017, she has shared stages with artists like Kamasi Washington and Laura Mvula, and performed at leading festivals including Trans Musicales (France) 2019 and Eurosonic (Netherlands) 2022 with her band Songø.
For Sisanda’s first gig, she and her friends put on a concert for the headmistress as an apology for misbehaving. They were a choir of 6 or 7 pupils and she was asked to sing a solo!
In this Family Gig, Sisanda is most looking forward to dancing and having fun with everyone in attendance.

Ollie Dennison
Ollie will be playing the ‘bang-ey shake-y things’ in the house band. As a drummer and percussionist Ollie loves to dance, move and make music with people of all ages. As well as working with Bristol Beacon’s groups for people living with dementia, Ollie is a massage therapist, practices capoeira and plays in a local ceilidh band.
Ollie’s first gig was in a mates front room playing the drums when he was 13.
For the Family Gigs he’s looking forward to making joyful music and singing some uplifting bangers!

“They all had a blast. It was so much fun – will definitely look to come again!”
